This subject has been covered extensively in a very recent thread (that you participated in).

Hey monawar,

I am assuming that you are getting an oud from maurice. I have never played an all ebony oud but from what i've been reading on these forums over the past couple of months, it seems as if ebony is kind of risky. I think that you either love ebony ouds or you hate them. I
really like the sound of the ebony oud and plan on buying one sometime in the future. Rosewood is a guarantee. I think everybody is in agreement that rosewood is an excelent bowl wood and it sounds great. Its also cheaper than ebony. All in all, I don't think you can go wrong with either decision.

Hi Monawar

Kindly email me at zulkarnainyusof@gmail.com for more information about the Ebony/Rosewood Oud. I have one of the same kind by Maurice Shehata myself.

I would advice you to buy an ebony oud, because i love the sound of the ouds on ebony wood.... its stronger, and it would live longer. and of course it sounds sooooooooo rich...
