do re mi fa sol la ti generally equates with the notes C D E F G A B

So your
Fa
La
Re
Sol
Do

is

F
A
D
G
C

That is one of the most popular Arabic tunings.

There is nothing wrong with using 5 courses of strings (9 strings). There are many experienced players who continue with that particular tradition.
