great deal on new oud in Toronto (updated w/ photos)
The guy who repairs my ouds in Toronto, Rezza, is a builder of all Persiian instruments and ouds. He built a really great sounding Arabic oud, very
plain, with a western red cedar top and walnut bowel, ebony pegs and the price is $600 Canadian. This is about $450 USD; a great deal. I played the
oud last night and I have to say, it played easily, with low action and had a great sound with a solid bass response and even response. I wouldn't
post here if I didn't think the oud was a fantastic deal; the workmanship is impeccable. The scale length is 59CM. If anyone is interested in
receiving more information, please send me a PM. I'll try to get pictures the next time I see him.

As promised, here are pics of Rezza's oud. I mentioned that it is very plain and unfortunately the photos don't capture the quality of the cedar in
the top. Woods are Walnut and cedar with rosewood fingerboard, I think. Again, it has a 59CM scale, has a very good Arabic sound with a strong bass
and even response throughout its range. $600. PM me if interested and I'll put you in touch. $600 Canadian dollars.
