Is this a decline or a temporary downturn? I would imagine oud sales are not going anywhere in the long run, especially in Iraq, but this makes a nice story for the news network.

It's expected for things to slow down due to the challenging security situation. However, everything should go back to normal as the situation gets better.

zakiya_alali, I'm glad to hear that everything is fine there.
Did you go to Baghdad? I wonder what is the price range for beginer/ learner ouds?

Yes indeed I went to Baghdad and I have met few oud makers there
And I have brought few ouds with me, reasonable price
