Yes, that *is* a beautiful oud. If by "front plate" you mean the soundboard, that straight grain wood top does not resemble any maple wood I have
seen. Are you sure about that?

I agree that it looks like cedar. I was saying it did not look like maple.

I trust they are correct. It looks like Cedar to me and is the typical colour of Cedar wood also. The Oud is their Premium1 quality.
