DIY Electric oud : piezo question

Hello,

I'm making my own electric oud. I made the plan by using my acoustic oud that I bought in Damascus back in 2008.
For now, all I did is the neck and the headstock :

I would like the bridge like on my acoustic oud :

I planed to put on a piezo from GFS like this one :

I do have one question.
If I put it in the bottom part of the bridge, where it will touch the body, will work correctly?
Or should I make a bridge with a bone saddle like on acoustic guitars?
On the picture below, the piezo is shown in red.

Thanks a lot!

The best pickup is a saddle transducer under a bone saddle. The GFS looks like any other, probably fine. Use a quality pre-amp as close to the transducer as possible end pin is ok, if you want controls, you need to find a spot for the panel.
