I'm seriously considering to buy a new Turkish ud but have noticed that most come me a shorter fingerboard and a longer one that goes onto the face.
The shorter ones are usually cheaper haha!
What are some of the pros and cons for having the short or long fingerboard?
except for the price, and the different look, there is no pro for short fingerboards over the long.
Long fingerboards will serve you for longer time, The are easier when it comes to action adjustment and the necessity to sand down to get rid of any
unevenness and it is easier when you even want to glue a new fingerboard over the old one for any reason.
