Brazilian Rosewood for sale

I'm helping a good friend (Konrad Sauer of Sauer and Steiner Toolworks) sell off some of his Dalbergia Nigra. This is CITES certified with all the necessary documentation available.

The wood was cut in the 1960's at the Martin guitar factory. It is old. It is dry. It is wonderful stuff.

Much of the wood is located in Canada (Toronto area) and can be exported from there into the United States.

Most of the billets are 1-1/16" squares, 20" long. Perhaps not long enough for ribs for an oud, but they would work for Buzuq and of course for other parts of the oud like bridges, neck veneer, pegs, purfling, tiles, etc. Pieces this size are $40 ea. There are longer pieces as well, some up to 48" long, but the majority are this length.

Brazilian Rosewood is unlike any of the other rosewoods. It simply feels alive in the hands, like its vibrating from within. It's quite remarkable.

Send me a PM if you're interested and I can put you in touch with Konrad.
Or simply contact him through his blog: http://sauerandsteiner.blogspot.com/
