Pick up for Oud?
Hi All,
Any recommendations for Oud Pick up? Do you have any experience with this specific pick: Big Twin Pick Up by K & K Sound ?

Hello rn66tony!
I can't tell about the Big Twin, but with my oud came a Twin Spot pickup which I'm so far content with. You have to use sellotape to glue the cables
to the soundboard, otherwise you'll have cable noises.
I bought a Pure Preamp by K & K too, just to have some active controls in reach. There's a clip included which I use to cling the preamp to my
left trouser pocket.
As far as I can say this pickup is worth its price, I find the preamp a little expensive, but I got one from a german store for about 80 Euros who had
bought a bunch of them before K & K gave the price a mark-up. Together with my Fishman Loudbox Mini this combination sounds good to me, not as
natural as a microfone I think, but that's ok with me.
