Where are you located? Also, what is the string height as ask by Dan Z? The string height is the measurement from the neck, where it meets the sound board, to the lowest part of the string. Thank you

what they mean if it can help is to take a picture from the side showing how far away the strings are from the fingerboard exactly where the neck meets the body.
if you can place a ruler to measure the height of the strings.

Thank you, Samir for further clarifying the question on string height.
Southbaydog, I asked the question on location to determine if you are close enough to visit since you are not considering shipping. For me, I do have interest in either one and I know of one other who was interested. Just curious, was the master luthier who did the work either the late Peter Kyvelos or Chris Pantazelos? Thank you, looking forward to your answer.

Is that a microphone jack at the bottom? Who made a whole into the oud ? That microphone jack takes a whole lot of value out of the instrument.
Can you post a better photo of that.... is it something else than a mic jack?

This is just an ignorant post, I'm asking for less then half of it's real worth and now I have read this?
Don't buy it than.

It's not an ignorant post, as you don't make any mention of this on the description and it does affect the value and probably the acoustics, it's also not an accurate description without mention to such a drastic modification.

The oud looks good as a restored, re-varnished instrument yet such a modification is worth discussing.

You have confirmed it so it's not for me and recommend describing it for a potential buyer to know what they are getting.

A microphone jack? You mean a jack for a pickup? It has zero bearing on the value whatsoever. It effects nothing as to the sound. A small “hole” will not effect the sound, it’s an absolutely asinine statement. You should better educate yourself on the acoustics of a musical instrument.
