Oud masterpieces by Bardezbanian

Reposted from the buy/sell ouds list. OOOPS!

HI folks

I recently came across an album by Bardezbanian loaded with terrific pieces from Turkey, Armenia and the ME.

I'm keen to find the sheet music for many of the pieces in the album and wonder if any of you have links to PDFs of the pieces?

I've looked through the forum and whilst there are references and links to Turkish sheet music resources they are quite challenging to search!

Any help would be appreciated.

CQ

Without knowing what the pieces are it is hard to offer meaningful help. If you mean this recording: https://www.discogs.com/Alan-Shavarsh-Bardezbanian-Oud-Masterpieces/...

these are mostly folk tunes. Notation for folk tunes is harder to come by than Ottoman classical pieces. Not impossible though. The Turkish music websites that have notation for so many pieces are easier to navigate if you specify the genre or category of the piece you are searching for.

Perhaps the Armenian music express on this forum can offer more concrete help.

There is a lot of Greek music and one Iranian piece on that CD as well. The same melody may well exist in Turkish or Armenian repertories but maybe with a different title. Searching for a Greek title on a Turkish website is an understandably frustrating undertaking.

What is the iranian piece there? I don't seem to recognize any at first glance.

If I remember right, I may have guessed from the name that Raqs Homayun was Persian.

Hello Cyberquills,

I have the sheet music for one of the piece of the CD.
It's SEDI DONKA, a Bulgarian traditional piece with a time signature of 25/8 !
Enjoy :-)
