Lemon oil stain on unfinished oud face
Accedntily and while cleaning the fingerboard, i had one drop on the oud face. It's unfinshed wood so it stained it. Is there any way to remove
that? It's a precious oud (Kamil Mouis) and I'm feeling really bad but dont know what to do.
Any advice?

That sucks. Happened to me before and really there is nothing that be done without making it worse. With time... It will get better.

Try powdering it with baby powder (talcum) and leaving it for 24 hours. Sometimes the powder can draw the oil out. Repeat for a couple of days. It
works on silk, so maybe it will work on wood. At any rate, I don't think it can hurt.

i am a little nervous about applying anything even baby powder. Worried about making it worse. Are you sure it will be OK?

Baby powder is a good idea. Just don't rub it hard or anything. After you vaccum the spot to get it off.

Samir's right -- don't rub it. The idea is that the powder slowly draws the oil off the wood, so avoid rubbing the oily powder back into the wood.
Vacuum or brush up the old powder, and lay down fresh powder once a day, until it stops making a difference.
Plus, your oud will smell baby fresh!
