Salih Bilgi ouds

Hello everyone!

I am a bit hesitant about an instrument to buy…

Being a beginner oud player (but not a beginner in music) I am thinking about purchasing a Turkish oud. I have started to play oud several weeks ago with a Moroccan instrument. This “grandfather” is huge, older than me, I suppose, and has a decent life story according to his fingerboard with holes and scratches, a broken and repaired pegbox and several pegs that are able to “unscrew” all of a sudden in the middle of a song. The sound is surprisingly nice, warm and round, even if somehow damp, but…I finally decided that it should be more comfortable to play a new instrument. My teacher has some Turkish ouds for his students for sale and they are made by Salih Bilgi. Did you hear anything about this craftsman? Is the price of 800 euros high for a normal oud?

Thank you very much in advance!
P.S. I tested one of the instruments. The sound is very deep, resonant and bright, with “buzz”. Feels completely different and unusual after much softer Moroccan oud but good nevertheless.
