What questions about playing the oud need to be answered better?

What would REALLY help you as an Oudist or Oud learner?
I'm hoping for more than just, "I want to learn so and so song or piece." Of course if it's a piece that is exceptionally unique and rare, then I
would consider it.
One thing that I find struggling is to find the more accurate up and down of the risha that suits best a fast melody when changing strings. Typicaly
on longas.
