yes , i have a friend who set her lavta for arabic music intervals, it works quite well. much like buzuk....there is no reason one couldn't adjust the
frets for Persian music as well,,i believe Eric Ederer had a lavta type instrument built that has frets for turkish/arabic and persian intervals ,, he
calls it Nautilauta,, he has several examples on you tube on his channel
