Can anybody of our arabic speaking friends tell me more about this instrument/the maker? Is there a year / date mentioned?
I got it for free today from a friend, it has not been played for a couple of years but looks like a nice instrument altogether.

Does anybody know if this "Shehta Salah Eldin" was maybe the father of Maurice Shehata?

No, I dount it's any relation.
Farouk Shehata is Maurice's father. Was a very famous oud maker.

I put on new strings today and it's not only a nice looking oud - it has also quite a promising sound...
I think the instrument could be built in the 80's, there are some numbers inside, which you almost can't read anymore, it's more of a guess of what I
think I could read.
