Hi there! Good news for UK oudies wanting to get hold of these new reformulated oud strings at a more realistic price.
I’ve pursuaded The Early Music Shop in Saltaire Yorkshire to get some of these new sets direct from Italy. Previously importing from Italy or
USA has been prohibitively expensive due to postal and tax charges.
They are stocking C-c Arabic , ff Iraqi and Turkish sets to mirror the Reds offering also.
They are silver wound incl the new d course plus off white
nylguts similar to the lute trebles.
I know there has been some recent discussion about this d course formulation for and against and I am going to try a set on my longer scale ouds. The
reds 130o work generally well on 60 -61.5 cm scale so looking forward to giving these a try.
If enough UK customers continue to buy from EMS they are likely to make these a regular stock item.
