MirasLute Oud Unboxing

New creation by "Miras Lute".

I really like the clear, punchy sound, and the saddle bridge design.

Smoothest tuning pegs I've had in on an Oud in years since my old Iranian-made Barbat I had ten years ago.

These are the first sound right out of the box. Let me know what you think.

Sounds absolutely fantastic Navid!
So, what tuning pegs are on this that are so smooth? are these wittner's? Of all things i dislike most of playing my ouds is having to tune them without good tuners...what a pain it can be...
This beauty has a very punchy sounding sustain/reverb. I like it alot!
Cheers,
Matt
ps: i really like Sala as a company so far. My wife has bought me several things from them and it always comes fast and packaged well, and good products all around.

I'll just make a contribution regarding the varnish.
Shellack is is time consuming, so expensive, but in my point of view the only solution to be used. Great
I'm just getting out spending some hours taking of a polyurethan varnish of the soundboard of an oud. The result is astonishing. i think synthetic varnished on ouds soundboard are to be avoided. 2 times i have this direct exemple, being able to compare the oud before and after taking off the varnish.
Those synthetic varnished kill the sound. More or less depending how thick they are done, but anyway don't have the brillance of real shellac and i dont feel them any advantage on the sound
congrats on the new oud !

Hi Matt,
They are just well fitted and I think there is some graphite on the pegs to make it even smoother. Still get a tiny bit of clicking on the bone nut, but it's very minimal.
