Is it safe to assume that camel bone is used in Oud making in countries like Egypt? It's highly prized by stringed instrument makers in the US. It's
thought that of all the natural products for nut and saddle making, camel bone is the best suited.
Planning a trip to Egypt next year and visiting an Oud-maker's shop is on the itinerary. I would also assume, if camel bone is used, an Oud luthier
would be the person to talk to about getting some to bring home. Provided, that is, if the bone has been properly treated.
