Is this instrument an OUD ???
I was given this instrument and I'm not sure what it is and where it comes from... Can anybody help me?

woah. that is cool! not an oud, and i've never seen anything like it! maybe a custom build, one of a kind creation. part of the bottom neck seems like it is related to sursringar, a long fretless lute of north india

So after looking a bit i think this instrument is a highly stylized Tibetan Dranyen.

That is an amazing instrument with a lot of personality. You are really lucky to be given such an instrument :) Maybe it really is a Dranyen but a very different kind with a larger body relative to the neck. How does it sound?
