How to attach DPA 4099 to oud
I am considering a a DPA 4099 for my ouds and resophonic guitar
Looks easy to attach to guitar - but oud not so much - but I have seen a few people use them with oud in youtube videos.
What clip or device are people using to attach this mic ( or the similar Audio Technica mic) to ouds?

my teacher had velcro tape with glue underneath stuck to the soundboard, but he didn't care about stains on his oud

I've been talking with DPA about this issue. There is so far not really a good way to attach to most ouds non-invasively.
They claim to have some adhesives that won't mark the wood/finish.
They also recommended the 4060 as an alternative as it is very small and light.
I have yet to test any of the options. I made some mounting suggestions but they weren't interested so far.

to come back to this topic, if you have lacquer on the sound board you can use one of those things that you use to attach your smartphone to the
window of your car, with a suction cup. i have tried it and it works

I have thought this might be a good solution. Is there a particular model you’ve found that worked?
I’m currently testing the 4060 mic, I’ll post here about my experiences once I have an opportunity to try it in some concert settings.

I am not sure where it was from, I had a couple lying around. I made makeshift holder on top of it for a Schoeps mk 4. I was afraid that attaching the
suction cup might dampen the vibration of the soundboard, but I don't hear any difference 
|
