Relating to the topic of Cinucen Tanrikorur

I'm sorry if I might be asking a question that has been answered but is the great Necati Celik, was he one of Cinucen's students? Because they have similar technics.
Please help me find the answer to this.

Thanks in advance
David G.

Yes, Necati was a student of Cinuçen for quite a long time. I think towards the end of Cinuçen's life, they were perhaps more like "colleagues" than teacher/student. Late in life, Cinuçen wrote several pieces of great complexity (and beauty) for Necati, which was lucky enough to hear in person last summer.

Another oud player of the same school is Yurdal Tokcan - absolutely incredible technique and artistry. If you haven't heard "Hislenis," you must find it and buy it. I think Golden Horn Records will be doing the American release of this CD this summer (I picked it up in Turkey).
