Udi Yorgo Bacanos recordings

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone out there knows if there are any available recordings of Bacanos other than the Folkways CD. I can't seem to find any, and I though you guys might have some ideas. Thanks, Amos

The one I have (and love) is "Yorgo Bacanos 1900-1977", released in 1997 on Kalan Muzik Yapim. You can get it from http://www.kalan.com

There are three Bacanos tracks on the Masters of Turkish Music "Ud" collections put out by Kalan, too.

I've heard that the Traditional Crossroads (http://www.traditionalcrossroads.com) version of the Bacanos CD contains a few different tracks from the Kalan one. Maybe someone can confirm this, as I only have the one put out by Kalan. The TC version is available through their site and at place like cduniverse.com amazon.com.

Hi,

There are basically 3 CDs out as far as I know. The Kalan, the green Trad. Crossroads, and the joint En Chordais/Trad. Crossroads release. They all have overlapping material, but some tracks vary here and there.

For some really amazing Bacanos tracks, get the Hafiz Saydettin Kaynak CD from Kalan, he has some really great playing on there. He even has another piano taksim in a gazel if you like his other one. :D

Enjoy,

mavrothis
