New Tortis Risha!

Hi all,

I just got my New Tortis risha from Mizrab Risha (website in oud link page).

I have used plastic from every can, bottle and container I got my hands on. this is definitly the real deal, it's smooth like butter (or Lebny) the sound is very clear without the harsh clicks of plastic. the grip is wonderful and my hands don't smell like shampoo or Clorex bleach anymore.
excellent stuff. worth the 20 bucks.

if you just started playing oud, this may not be the right material for you, as it will likely break. so stick with the plastic bottles, it's the right of passage to the more sophisticated Tortis (as you get your hands more relaxed with practice).

Thanks for the nice comments.

I'm making picks now from a new color of "new tortis" I'm calling "mosaic". Due to the more opaque quality of the material, in my initial tests it seems to be more durable. I'm also offering a larger size now for no extra charge. Check it out:

I can make it to the thickness you like. If you have something specific in mind, send me an e-mail.

The picks are made from a polymerized animal protein. In other words, it's very close to real turtle shell. So close that most people can't tell the difference. If I told your where I got the stuff, I'd have to, well, you know the rest of the saying! :D:D

Samir---I'm glad you like the pick!
