salaam Waloud,
Music Chamber, (04 331 6416) at the Crowne Plaza Shopping Centre on Sheikh Zayed Rd and has instructors. It's Dh100 per hour, perhaps a little expensive, but I haven't had time to get some lessons as I'm always on a damn aeroplane. They seem like nice guys though.

Hello,

I realize I'm replying to an old post, but it looks like I will be traveling to Dubai in early May for a concert.

The trip will probably last for at least four days, and I was wondering if there are any musicians there who would like to meet.

Also, I'm curious if there are any oud shops worth visiting. I've read in another post that Abu Dhabi is better for oud "browsing" in the UAE, but I'm not sure how easy it is to get from one city to the other.

Either way, it would be nice to meet someone there if there is time.

Take care,

mavrothis

Hey,

Thanks man. Yeah, this Persian group I'm in is starting to tour a little more, so it's very cool. We are doing an event that is to help fund the Encyclopedia Iranica.

I'm really looking forward to this trip and I think it would be cool to meet some local musicians.

Take care,

mav
