Would like to buy: Faruk Turunz Oud

I am a new oud student but I would like to buy a quality oud so that my learning won't be hindered by an inferior instrument.
I have heard a Faruk Turunz oud and I can't believe all the sounds emanating from the sound hole! I would like to buy the Grand Concert FarukTurunz Oud. My email: silotamper@aol.com

Thanks,
Gordon

Hello,

You should contact him by e-mail. His e-mail address is: oudshop@oudmaster.com. He is a very pleasant person to deal with and will help you buy the right oud.

Gordon,

Here's another e-mail address for Faruk Turunz, which he used in the correspondence between us:farukturunz@yahoo.com

I got from him the Grand Concert model. He is indeed pleasant to deal with, in addition to being a first-rate luthier.

Good luck.

Hi bpcNORD!
I recently bought an oud from mr Faruk and I am 100% content from his work. My oud sounds perfect and has a very good balance. However I strongly recomment his ouds.

Hello udi19002000,

Does your oud have a rosewood bowl? I played one of his concert models at his shop last week or so, and thought that the sound and action were pretty sweet. I was impressed.

Arabic or Turkish tuning?

Thank you for your kind replies. As novice, I haven't decided
which tuning-Arabic or Turkish is my preference.I enjoy most of the oud music I have heard whether it's Greek,Arabic,or Turkish! I tuned my electric oud: CFAdgc only because I enjoy the music from Northern Africa and I had to start somewhere. Does it make a difference which tuning I end up with? Will the oud accomodate both tunings if I use the proper string gauges?

You can do both tunings with the Turkish, but only the Arabic with the Arabic. I have a Turkish oud and use mostly Arabic tuning.
