here's another one...

Hi everyone,
I just got my digital four track, so i am compulsively trying it out...here is another instrumental tune in curcuna (10/8)it starts out with a short taksim...i couldnt figure out how to reduce the reverb effect, but i thought i'd share it anyway...Thanks for listening, Amos

Great. I liked very much.

I think first one starts with Nahawand and yr second jurjina with Hijaz, aren't they ?? Also i think first one is an egyptian maqsum rythm....
Well I am trying to educate "modally" and rythmically my still-learning-ears.

By the way i did not know what curcuna was so i ran to maqamworld.com to drink available knowledge there.

Are this yr own compositions?

I am dreaming of reaching skills like Amos (in oud and in computer recording) ...so i can participate to "beautify this beasty world".

tks Amos

Thank you both so much! Zalzal, the pieces were my compositions, and the first one was in saidi...i dont always stay in maqams properly, i kind of move between a few in each compostion. not exactly orthodox, i know. it is so good to be able to share these songs. i live in a place where there are not many oud players, and it means very much to me to get feedback from oud lovers and players. i wish you all a happy new year and all the blessings of health and happiness. salaam and shalom, amos
