Hello Mourad!
you're right....there is nothing to do.....the quality of the product made by Mimmo at Aquila is
a lot superior...You can love them or hate them...but if you can apreciate them in the right way and expecially you have an instrument that feels good with them you will not go back....For me the Nylgut is like a drug!!!i won't never never go back to other string makers once tested...it sounds so near to the real gut....

Hello Mourad,
I also have a Sandi that I bought in July 2005.
I still have the original strings : Labella.
What kind of tuning do you use ?
I play Arabic music and my tuning is DABead.
And I play like it was one scale lower.
It should be CGAdgc.
The problem is always the length of the strings.
I am searching solutions with people who have the same material as me.
Thank you.

hello robert

my standard tuning is CEAdgc. becouse i'm performing more arabic peaces with a little middle east ensemble. but we also play some turkish songs transposed down to arabic
tune. it is much easyer for the violin player who tunes GDgd
my Sandi-Oud is made in march 2005 and the original strings are La Bella as well
the sound was great and i found no problem with stringlength or tension
than i ordert a set of Aquila Nylcut for arbic tuning CFAdgc
now every thing is much better sound and tension

you should buy the arabic set for DGAdgc

best wishes

I've read somewhere in this forum that the arabic set, sometimes, it's too tensive for arabic ouds. I have a Sukar, I put an Aquila Nylgut arabic set on it, CFADgc, I found out it's really tensive. They suggest to use a turkish set of Aquila on arabic ouds, to avoid problem with the neck and to feel more confortable.
Regards, Peppeo.

Thank you for your answer Mourad.
My oud was also constructed in march 2005. We probably have the same instrument.
Once I tried the tuning CGAdgc with the LaBella but it was much too loose.
There are different type of Aquila strings for Arabic tuning.
CGAdgc exists, it is 3rd type.
