in this week's economist (apr 1-7) there's an article on a pipa player - wu man, by name - in which the sound of her instrument is likened to "pearls
falling onto a jade plate."
would anyone care to wax lyrical over the sound of an oud?

"pearls falling onto a jade plate" is what for me described the better the sound of Jamil Ghanim,s oud. There is like a brilliance.
"sapphires dancing inside a well" is Omar Naqishbendi.

I love Vic the brick. So it's a very good thing. He's a local sports talk radio guy who ends his show with something he calls "Vic's hai ku" which is
immediately followed up with an Asian suspended gong sound. He's the greatest.

Here are some shots of my guy, Vic "The Brick" Jacobs. He's well known for sporting kimonos and fur hats...usually purple or blue ones for the local
team colors. I love this guy! He is a huge character.
