good ebay merchant

recently i bought some mizrab from a turkish ebay merchant named nazilli. his real name is olcay but his ebay address is nazilli musik.

this was not a huge purchase - $6.99 with postage to italy - but he answered my emails promptly and dispatched them as soon as my paypal payment arrived.

2 weeks went by without a delivery and when i wrote to tell him that something had gone wrong, without my even asking, he refunded my money immediately.

a few days ago, a month after he had sent them, the italian postal service delivered the mizrab ( way ... to ... go ... )

like i say, it wasn't a huge purchase but it's the little things - like courtesy and "buon comportamento" which reveal all. too much time as lapsed for me to leave positive feedback on his ebay account so i'm doing this instead.

Bill,

I have purchased rishas from Nazilli and found he was excellent to do business with. And the rishas are great. They cost next to nothing and I have been using them every day for several months with no desire to look further.

Regards,

Greg

someone suggested this:

http://www.msocp.com/newtortis.htm

... definitely pricey but they look great and will probably last you a lifetime.

If you want a stiffer risha, I think the new tortis ones are excellent.

Are they the ones you shared some of with me Greg ? They were too nice to hold and produced a very warm sound.

I finally found the link to Galli rishas

http://www.gallistrings.it/gallistringsJshop/main.jsp?pagina=showzo...

I just was given one by a friend and it happened to absolutely match my needs as i do not really play oud but rather massacre hard and heavely the strings but the risha Galli is still alive and kicking.

The price seems to be 18 euros for a set of 12 rishas.

Bill and Greg,
Thank you so much for those humbling compliments about your experiences with me.
Actually I am not doing anything special. I am just trying to be honest towards people and expect the same from them.
Thanks,
Olcay

Welcome to the forum Olcay!

What a coincidence. Yesterday, I put an order on the Mizrab from Nazilli. And Already today I got an email saying that they shipped! :)

I am happy I tried out Nazilli. And now I am hoping that these are the kind of Mizrab that I have been looking for...

The wood might be dead, but the oud is alive.

Another fan of Olcay's - I've bought quite a few things over the years, as have quite a few friends, and we've all been extremely satisfied.

Nice to see you here, Olcay!

Hello Olcay,

It is a delight to welcome you to Mike's Forums and to see your response to our comments from almost four years ago.

I am still using the rishas I purchased from you back then and I have given several to friends who also liked them.

A quality product from a quality supplier. Thank you sincerely.

Regards,

Greg
