pyramid strings
does anyone know the difference between the orange envelope pyramid strings and the red envelope. I want more of a deep low tone sound, which one
should i get? And I don't want high tension on the neck either.

hi
i am useing Pyramids strings and they are very good quality and very soft to play with.
The orange Pack is standard oud strings (5 tunes) but i dont know about the red one. But if you want to order from pyramids, i will give the number of
each strings to order it ( like a serial number for each strings). Notice the PYRAMIDS havce this system, for each String Tune, there is a serial
number for it.

I'm currently using pyramid strings and the difference between the orange, red and yellow is the string color.
Reds have red strings, yellow have black strings. I ordered a set of yellow but never put them on because I was told there not that great (same for
red) so instead i got the Super aoud strings. They seem to be alot thicker so they might give you that sound your looking for

I tried the the "Super Aoud" the g (especially this one) and c string was way too thick for my oud. I looked into it, and the
"Orange" set's nylon string gauges were more reasonable. But the wound strings were amazing!

Hi Sam,
I agree with you about that. The bass strings are excellent for that set, but I also prefer the orange packet nylons.

Aquila strings
Welcome Back Mike Thank you for your sight!!!
Has anyone tried the aquila strings yet?
I think they are great. They are very stable and don't go out of tune much. I find them to have a superior tone on my oud than nylon.

Has anyone tried the pyramid strings from Turkey? Do they even make pyramid strings in Turkey? I
ordered some from Mid-east mfg, and they say that they are made in Turkey. Let me know what you think.

Currently I have on a "g" aquila nylgut. I think its NG72. It took about a week for it to break in. But as far as the sound, it is very
warm compared to my nylon "c" string. There is no sharp, edgy, overtones you get with the nylon. At first I didn't like it, but I am
"warming" up to it ) I think I will replace the "c" soon, and
see how it goes.
