old samaii collection

Hi everybody;
I have gathered some samaiis from my collection that I want to share with you.
the sound quality is not excellent but it allows us to have an idea about the samaii which is played strictly as it (useful for learning).

samaii collection

any comment is welcome.
regards.

hi everybody
I'm glad because the compil pleased you.
I have just finished recording and converting a tunisian broadcast named "ADWAR" : in which each episode deals with a maqam (samaii, lounga, instrumental composition, dawr, takasseem in the maqam).
the maqams are : rast, bayati, sikah, hijaz, kord, ajam, saba, nawather and nahawand.
if you agree I wil start with rast :
Episode 1 - Rast
if the idea interests you I can continue uploading the remaining episodes what do you think ?
regards.

Thanks very much for the semai collection.
have a question regarding the new link.
initially i thought i might need to register to dl the file
cause it said 'Download this file' but it does not have any download link
there but still the same even after i registered for the standart account.
thought it might be firefox/explorer compatibility issue again,
so checked them both but still can't see any download link there.
is it just me?

sounds like a really informative and essential series to have.

it's ok. thank you very much for uploading it.
just got your message and dl it.
it's good that i registered to the site 'accidently'
cz now i'll have some place to ul some files i want.

Thanks again. :applause:

[EDIT:] just started listen to it and i saw it the past
weeks on the tunisian channel. we get it here in our cable
service. my only complain is that they keep interrupt the
broadcast and move to other shows/news right in
the middle of a song. cool thing you managed to get
them intact. i remember the same thing kept
hapening when i collected videos off the moroccan
tv channel we used to get. had so many andalusian
recordings but interruption in a middle of a song to
get to a broadcast from the 'parlament' was so common
it got me to stop and recording over those half-completed
performances. too bad. could've been really informative
to anyone wanted to get them, even half full.

hi benjamin;
unfortunately I don't known the composer of this rast lounga, itsn't even in my oud method (5 books).
however in the first part the lounga is by abderrahman jabaqji (to correct the mistake in the filename).
I hope a member of the forum could recognize the lounga it's effort worthy.

I love the samai bayati eryan. it's just so compelling and tear jerking.
now if only i could buy an oud start learn how to play the oud,
but with our crappy financial status and my upcoming teeth treatment,
i don't see that hapening anytime soon...unless my brother's friend
(a professional oud player. we're about the same age. he's very talented)
would lend me his newly-bought oud and agree on teaching me for small
fee (which i wouldn't feel comfortable on doing so), i might need
to wait another year or so. :(

Thanks again for uploading these files. having them sorted by maqam and
style would really help those who are in their 'baby steps' and would sure
be handy for those who are in their advanced training.
