Buzzing

Hi,
My six string (silver wounded-tuned A) is buzzing when i play a C and it only buzzes in that one spot. A little to the left or right the buzzing stops. I tried replacing the strings and the buzzing continued, i also tried playing with only one string (took out the 7th string) and the buzzing persisted.
On my finger board, specially under the 3rd and 4th pair (D and A) there are groove marks from the strings on the positions in question. I don't know if this is normal or not, the previous oud i had also got these indentations after a while as well. Is this what is causing this, and if yes, why would the maker use a wood that would so easily be bruised on the finger board?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Also if anyone knows a luthier in Vancouver, BC, CANADA. please give me his address or phone number.
thank youpouya

Pouya, did you search these forums for buzzing?
Do you know what kind of wood is used on the fingerboard? You could probably change the fingerboard by yourself too.

I'm located in Vancouver, Washington, USA. Hossein Behrouzinia lives in B.C., he might know if there's anyone there. He's got email...

Hi -- I'm in Vancouver too and have recently been given a tip on a lute maker who might be able to help me with my own problems. His name is Grant Tomlinson <grant_jan@uniserve.com>

I don't know this fellow, but my source is reliable.

give me a call at 604-874-5323 if you ever want to talk/play. I'd love to meet some local oud players. I'm a guitarist doing my best to make the transition to both Turkish and Arabic ouds.
