String adjusters for easy fine tuning

Take a look at this.
Fine tuner for violin to be installed on the bridge.
Could the luthiers of this forum give their opinion.
Could these adjusters (or other) be installed on an oud ?
With transformations... ?

I think if you have decent fitting pegs, fine tuning really shouldn't be too much of a problem. Fine tuners on violins are usually only needed on the highest string (providing the pegs fit well), all of the other strings are tuned via the pegs. There are many factors that make it pretty tough to tune the high E at the peg (frequency, tension, volume,....) so a fine tuner is useful; not to mention I've never met a violin with pegs that fit well enough to adjust the E by such small increments. On the lower and mellower oud however, I find it a lot easier on the ear finding the pitch, at least while tuning relative to the adjacent strings.
All that being said, to each his own; I think it'd be pretty cool to try, and who knows, it might make a task we've gotten used to a whole lot easier!

I am not a luthier, but from what I know you will definately lose much sound quality... the more vibration travels through the sound board (the face) the higher the resonance (of course depending on the oud). Fine tuners will work against that.
