General Questions about Oud

Hi All.

I love listening to this instrument and I wish I could play it. I want to know from your experience is it ever too late to learn how to play ? I have absolutely no experience with ouds.

Also does anyone know of any teachers in the Ottawa area ?

Thx.

Hey rballa,

I live in Ottawa and I can teach you the basics.
I have started teaching not long ago and I have 2 students so far.

Its never too late to learn but you need dedication. I have been playing oud for 3 years almost and I have made some great progress. I have learned entirely on my own so its possible to advance fast just depends on the effort you want to put in. Also if you are familiar with arabic music it helps a lot.

Do you allready own a oud? I can help you get one in ottawa.

It is never too late, rballa. It helps if you love the music. Very simple playing done with patence and expressiveness is great. Get a good oud.
