Yurdal Tokcan - Passion

http://www.goldenhorn.com/display.php4?content=records&page=ghp...

The page mentioned that this cd was recorded using ouds made by Master Faruk Turunz. I downloaded this cd from I-Tunes music store

My review after a few tracks: Yurdal is a technical virtuoso on the oud, and his compositions are very soulful and emotional. Lots of feeling on this cd. The tracks have a lot of fast and clean passages, and beautiful articulations. Even if you're more of a fan of the arab school of oud playing (as I am), you'll be moved by Yurdal's playing. And of course, Master Faruk's ouds sound amazing as well.

This CD arrived from Golden Horn Records all the way to Scotland this morning. Very impressed with the company, but REALLY impressed with Yurdal Tokan:applause:

Possibly the finest recording of contemporary Turkish oud style. Plenty of (dare I say?) bluesy feeling. The disc is well titled: Passion. This disc was released in Turkey as 'Hislenis'. The tracks are all his own compositions. Incredible virtuosity, but which never takes over from emotion. I think this disc will melt itself to my CD player before I listen to anything else.
