ouds in casablanca
planning a stay in csablanca, marocco i would like to visit a oud maker-seller. diid anybody know a good information for me. Thanks and good life to
all the musicians, specially oud players

Khaled Belkhaiba, the master maker for Said Chraibi, among others. And have also "resurected" medieval instruments with well known spanish
musicians.
But i do not have his adress.
Some body have it in his forum??

You will find four oud shops all in same street located behind a little mosque in the Medina. Enter the Medina from Bab Marakech - and ask for the
ouds shops street - this is one of the old doors of the Medina. In this street I bought the oud you will see in the pictures in the attachment.

best than belhaiba, and less known, is abdellah mouride, his oud have a great sound.
belhaiba is better for the finition his style is perfect, and his ouds are beautiful, but mouride's have the sound and he makes good prices.

I am trying to contact an old friend who lived in Casablanca, studied music there, and had contact with Khaled Bel Hayba (had a custom instrument made
by him) in about 2003. I will let you know if I find out anything useful, such as what neighborhood his home/workshop is in.

All,
I am not sure anyone has Khaled Bel Hayba's address. My friend who lived in Casablanca said that all the description he could get was something like,
"at the end of the dirt alley, in back." I will see if I can find out at least in what area he lives. You would have to ask around when you get
there...

it seems that the most famous oud maker in Casa is Khaled Belhaiba
his website dont work though
