Michoud,

There is a CD of Matar Muhammad's buzuq music ('Matar Muhammad: Hommage a un maitre du buzuq'). It was issued by Inedit.

Another CD is 'The Art of the Buzuq,' featuring the Lebanese buzuq player Issa. It was issued on the Arion label. He is good.

An older album available on CD is 'Taqasim,' featuring Ali Jihad Racy on buzuq and Simon Shaheen on oud (issued by Lyrichord).

Perhaps the greatest buzuq player was Muhammad Abd al-Karim from Syria. I have some old cassette recordings of his performances which are impressive (the sound quality is not).

The only notations for buzuq that I have seen are in a method for the buzuq by Shirzad Umar published in Damascus.

Michoud, I don't think you can buy Umar's book on the internet. As a method it is actually disappointing.

You should be able to find the method in Syria. It was published in Damascus in 2000.
