heard of this band? please help!
Hi everyone,
Is anyone aware of the band "Kontrabando" from Greece?
Their oud player is a man by the name of Takis Giorgou, also plays cumbus, studied with Yurdal Tokcan.....

There is the website, if you listen to track 2 called "Aroma"
('Αρωμα , the composition, sound of the instruments and
just all around feel is sensational, they have a beautiful sound. Track 3 is also exquisite,with the kanun.......
Track 6 begins with the laouto......then comes in with a full ensemble.
These are just samples that you listen to on the website at the little menu that pops up.
THIS BAND HAS REALLY GOTTEN TO ME, and I can't find the cd anywhere.
DOES ANYONE OWN THIS CD: "Cargo" - Kontrabando?

Hey,
A friend of mine played me some of their stuff a few months ago - great right? I have only heard them through their website. Great musicians all of
them.
Apparently they are more known in Thessaloniki then in Athens, but perhaps by now they are getting more recognition.
I'll let you know if I find out more about the CD.
