Hi Lazzaro,

I got question regarding the finger board. What did you use to smoothen the fingerboard, i mean of course you use Sand Paper, but can you use sanding machin to do the job?

I got oud with new finger board, some body put it for me, but he missed up the action height, so it is too buzzy because the strings touching the finger board when it is viberate. i am windering if i can use sanding machin to sand the finger board?!

Thanks in advance, Lazzaro. you did exellent job in the your project. i might start order ouds from you.

Cheers

;)

its better to use a sanding block. like a tool to hold the sand paper flat while you sand. Because with a sanding machine its easy to take off too much.

Hi Samir,

I have seen sanding Block techniq, it takes long time to do the job but it is more accurate.

I bought a sanding machine, but it is not that stronge, it seem to me it works very well. But any way i dont have much experience in wood works, but i am learning.

Any way, is there any formula that calcute the action height and slope of the strings from the bridge to the nut?!.
I have got oud, that has high fingerboard, and it is too buzzy, the strings touch the finger board when it is vibrating.

thanks for your help guys

Cheers

:)

Hi Lazzaro,

The oud sounds great, and is beautifully crafted. The understated rich look of the back, the (maple ?) lined pegbox, the cool binding on the soundholes, and the great looking mizraplek. Wow! Enjoy it in good health.

Cheers...Paul
