fadaytoka ...

A while ago I came across these lines of poetry for abu-nawwas, and I couldn't help singing them ..

As I can't sing properly, though, I resorted to just playing the melody the way I'd figure it should be sang ..

So here ... hope you like it.

Regards,
Hamid

Thanks Samir ...

I think I'm getting a handle of it, but I'm still not quite fond of the risha's clicking ..

Were you able to follow the song in the piece? I think I've cluttered it with interleaves between the phrases.

yah I was able to follow the words to the melody.
I enjoy doing the same too. I took an arabic poetry class at Ottawa u last semester and I was captivated. I especialy enjoy poetry from the Jahilia and lattely I been stuck on Nizar Qabbani.
When are we going to meet !??

Awad, Ziad - thank you so much. I'm glad that you've enjoyed it.

I haven't read much into Abu Nawas, but these lines are quite captivating. I actually learned them from the first read!

Hamid
