oud website?


hi,

first of all wanted to say that i'm new here and you guys have a wonderful forum.

i saw a website http://www.learnoud.com that says it will teach you oud playing , i wanted to ask has anyone tried it or heard anything about it, i wanted to subscribe but wanted to check if it would be useful or not worthy.

its probably worth it if you want to learn the Iraqi oud style.
but regardless if you are a beginer you will learn the basics from it.
but I would suscribe to something like this with knowlege of the basics allready so
you dont waste your money.

there is also another thing which can help you learn the basics.
and its free. the learn to play section from mikeouds.com
click on the maqam scales and watch the videos.

also I would recomend reading trough the forum to get more knowlege about tuning the oud and other basic stuff.

thanks sameer, i already know the basic and how to tune the oud, i learnd how to play 6 years ago but then stops practicing because of school, but now i want to learn again, and more than i ever did

Hey, i used that website for 1 month just to see what it was about, its great for beginners, it teaches how to read music, different maqams, and various pieces like longas and samais. it doesn't teach iraqi style per say, its a good site for beginners if you speak arabic.

thanks you guys, i think i'm will be joining, however, i don't like to read music .. i learned the basic without reading music, as they call it "sama'e", in other word just buy listening.

i might give it a shot.
