I know it has probably been asked before, I can't read sheet music, is there any other way to learn how to play this song, it isn't on Oud tutor, please any help, thanks

Hi Ali,

Yes, there is another way. Listen to it 100 times and then do it on the oud. Take it step by step.

:rolleyes: well i guess i could try that, bess yani, i wish there are tabs for oud, that would make things so much easier., or just a video of someone playing it real slow. thanks for suggestion :)

From someone who doesn't read oud music either......I'm going to learn how. It's a single line like a horn chart not like a piano. Once you get how the microtones are written it will be easy. I hate reading music but knowing how will increase the number of pieces I'll be able to play a hundred times over. People on this site are the most helpful musicians you'll ever find and there are some great players who are regulars. Go for it, Homes.

Thanks, in the Oud Method book I have i think it shows how to read music, but its hard to understand

Learning how to read music isn't that difficult, it just takes time. With that said, one of my father's best friends was a FANTASTIC oud player, and he never learned how to read music. I wish I was that versed in playing the oud.

Thanks, I just got to try and get the order and finger placement right. It seems most of it is played on the second to last set, right?
