buy a Shehata oud
I think I´ll buy a Shehata oud.

Wich is the best way to buy a Shehata?? mailing him?? sphynshop??
I think contact with him in person s better and probably cheaper than buy one oud in a shop...or not???
I think Shehata has an oud factory and he don´t work in all the process of making the oud...what do you think about it???

You can call him or you can ask Mike for some help if you dont speak arabic.
He has aprentices that are working with him in order to learn how to make ouds... that is how the knowlege is kept alive.
he does make all the important parts for example: bracing and mounting the soundboard.

My oud teacher bought his from this place:

He purchased the "Palisander Coptic Shehata Oud" (SH4)
I have to admit, out of all of my teachers ouds, this is my favorite one.
One of his other students bought the SH4 (Shehata Prof. Palisander Oud), which is the one I have been wanting.

Take Samir's advice my friend and try asking Mike to help you. He is very friendly, very helpful, knows Maurice personally and speaks the language.
Just don't say anything about his hairstlye...
