nope... its not Iraqi
its probably a gamil georgis egyptian oud.

the sound is very "arabic" too I dont know which Iraqi oud in particular you thought this sounded like but it doesnt sound Iraqi at all to me.
Usualy we say Iraqi ouds have the floating brige which gives them the more guitar like sound.

Thanks SamirCanada for the link. It's a very nice taqsim, and agree it is a nice sound and style "à la Farid Atrash"

The same youtube poster ST2340 has more clips on oud and Samir Tahar.

What i like also is that Samir Tahar is algerian (tahya al djazair hourra!) and that he is engaged for human rights and migrants rights.

His web page is here

Samir Tahar has been my favorite oud player for years, and he's a really nice guy, too. I once emailed him just to say how much I liked his playing, and he sent me all kinds of stuff from Algeria - a poster, cd, handwritten note, etc. I still have all of it.

The taksim has some moments, but it would certainly help if the instrument was in tune and not so many off notes were hit.

The oud definitel sounds like farid.
