I've been in the woodworking business for about 10 years, and my shop looks like an operating room compared to these oud-makers shops from the
middle-east. What an irony that such beautiful, meticulously crafted objects emerge from these shops that look as though they were sitting unused for
decades, under an inch of dust.

What is amazing to me is what Fadhel uses those huge C-clamps for. They look like they would crush an engine block! Otherwise it reminds me of my shop
- a corner of the garage, Ouds and lawnmowers all mixed up together. I guess it's what comes out of the shop that counts, huh? Funny, I
don't see any molds in his place, hmmmm?

Hey guys,
Interesting pictures. Mohamed Fadel looks like a jolly old man. Very cool to see these pictures.
Zul, I think that last picture is of Ghassan on Mohamad Ali Street. It actually looks like one of the places we walked past. I think the guy that
makes the ouds there is named Walid or Hamid (not sure). His ouds are in all the shops on Mohamad Ali Street.
