Hello forumers!
I' m looking for a 440Hz tuning version of this nice bashraf from Cedre !Is it possible to have some
explications about the Morkos special tuning and about the rhythm used ?I think of iqaa aqsaq

Hello Dubai!As many people I tune my oud by the way of a chromatic tuner or I sometimes check the A440 with a simple diapason. The Morkos tune is
different, according to my ear.I'm looking for another interpretation because I tired to change my tune especially to be able to follow it!!

Bon Jour Gilgamesh! If this composition is near in pitch to 440 then I think there is some software available that can raise or lower the pitch of a
recording to 440 so you can play along with it. maybe someone at your local music store might know about it. bon chance!: mw

Hi G.- I think this melody begins in a modal G minor, like nahawand farahfaza It's too short a sample for me to figure out where it moves to
chord-wise after that.
I'm no expert in Morkos music or tunings but in the first song clip, after a short introduction the melody then seems to be rooted around a modal G
minor, like nahawand farahfaza ... then chords move around after this . hope this helps you figure some of it out!

to me seems tuned higher (A 445/446 hz)
in the first track I think it's makam rast in C in both forms rast-rast and rast-nahawand, because it starts on the second jins rast in G (and in the
way down nahawand in G) and after it develope on the first jins rast in C
but I think Brian should give the right interpretation on this..
Anyway you can use the software "transcribe!", where you can play the song and pitch it, slow it, play with a bordone note, you can make loops, so
also of a single note and there's a screen where you can detect the note playing.. try it, is very useful

months ago I found this extract from a iraqi cd one of the most useful to understand to "hear" maqam rast..

I think it's the same rast maqams with a part on suznak (rast C- hijaz G)

This piece is in Bayati, the Morkos ensemble is tuned down approximately a whole step, if I remember correctly.
