Electric oud fusion (and I LOVE it!!)


Here's a link to a video of a band with the oud player playing an electric oud. He was a part of OudDuo I believe. I know some people don't go for this sort of thing because it is a bit removed from the standard oud playing, but how can you not move to something like this? Anyone know what kind of electric oud he's playing. I have a Najarian, and it doesn't look like mine.

I love it too!
The only thing I wish is that they would employ a real darbuka player also..
Mehdi's duo with Smadj was called "DuOud". There are many varieties of electric oud being made in Turkey now..
I'm working on a similar project..

I don't like the fact that it doesn't sound like a oud. I would have never guessed if I heard the song without seeing this clip.
