My newest oud

Here are some photos of my new Shehata oud:

http://www.varis.com/Oud/Shehata/index.html

I couldn't pass this one up. I'll try and get some sound files up over the weekend but my recording skills are not as good as my photography skills, ;)

New Shehata Oud

Bill,

Alf Mabrouk (a thousand congratulations). May you enjoy it in good health. How did you come by it ?

You hadn't mentioned anything beforehand (I don't remember)

Thanks

Yeah... I wasn't planning on buying another oud so soon but... an opportunity arose ;)

Next one will be a Turkish oud... maybe by next year I'll be ready for that, eh Spyros?

Me playing

Er... yeah, that's me. You really think that's fast?

I guess I had a kind of technique breakthrough the other day. I've been playing with these really stiff rishas made from bamboo. you can see some photos of my construction method here:

Lee, you're new oud is great. The bamboo risha seems to be working great for you. I was talking to Wael recently and he said your oud is a very nice one. You're quite lucky to be rolling in the middle of all of this oud madness. Enjoy them, man. Also, I hope that you're giving all of your ouds equal playing time. You never know which ones sound will mature more and become more pronounced in the long run.
