Really lovely. That ebony looks fabulous, and I think it's really hard to work with too. The little rosettes are so delicate. Nice job all around.

What a marvellous instrument, a great art work!
The black bowl crossed by the shells lines is an aesthetic wonder....
Two wishes:
May I have an order of price ( you can answer on my email address)?
Could you send a sound clip?.......or Samircanada, I suppose the two ouds are rather similar.....
Thanks....

Samir, Abusaid....

When people talk about the ebony shehata ouds, being on the heavy side; are they seriously heavy? does one really notce the difference as compared to a standard oud, say walnut?

Thanks Savoud and Francis for your nice words.

Francis about the sound clip, let me tell you that I'm a beginner, I'm learning oud seriously from 6 month, but I'll do my best and I'll post a clip in a couple of weeks. (If not me I can post a clip of my oud being played by my teacher, Adel Abed).

Melborne, I have 4 ouds and this one is a little heavier than other but it feels very balanced on your legs to play, very stable and firm in playing position. I like it so much.

I can post a clip of mine if you wish but I am in the process of changing the strings.

I can tell you something though it sounds like nothing else. I played an ebony oud at mike's house and I made it a priority to get myself one asap.
Like Abusaid said it is very well balanced and when playing it doesn't bother me. I can play it for a long time without any problem ( no different then any other oud ).

Mine is different in the sense that it has a cedar face but I think overall they are pretty close.

Thx for those pics - much appreciated. I just checked them out - awsome looking oud. My Shehata is just around the corner - I hope to recieve it in the next couple of weeks - cant wait :bounce:. I think you will like it Samir, it has a lot of nahatesque characteristics like yours...

Cheers mate.

Thanks Mike.

The oud player in the clip is my young oud teacher Adel Abed. He was just testing the oud.

I hope you like it.
